Near Leominster, Herefordshire Situated on the Welsh borders in the village of Aymestrey, alongside the banks of the River Lugg, this beautiful half timbered 16th Century Inn offers real ales, cuisine and accommodation to the highest standard. Set in glorious countryside some six miles west of the old wool town of Leominster, eight miles from Ludlow with its historic castle and 18 miles from the county town of Hereford, The Riverside Inn is an ideal base from which to explore the area or just relax in the tranquillity of the surroundings. |

Owned and run by Richard and Liz, The
Riverside Inn won awards at the Ludlow Food Festival 2007 and the
Flavours of Herefordshire 2008. We specialise in English
cuisine using the best local ingredients. Walking is tremendously popular - we are at the mid point of the Mortimer Trail and offer a package including transportation for the whole trail based at The Riverside Inn. We also have excellent circular walks starting and finishing at the Inn, ranging from 6 to 15 miles. Fly fishing for brown Trout and Grayling is available along a mile of the River Lugg banks - as described by John Beer in his articles and book. National Trust properties, historic houses and gardens, and historic sites abound in the immediate area, we have also recently been used as a base for painting and shooting. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. |
