Mortimer Leisure Centre, Wigmore
The Mortimer Leisure Centre in Wigmore is a facility shared with Wigmore High School and managed by the community. It offers a wide range of sports and fitness pursuits. The fitness room has both fitness and strength building equipment including treadmills, cycles, rowing m/c, weights, and muscle building equipment of various sorts.

The sports hall is bright and airy and has most court based activities marked on the floor. We have equipment for most sports, football, cricket nets, badminton, basketball, volleyball, hockey, netball etc.

Every week there is circuit training with a qualified instructor. Other events are organised depending on the demand from the local community.

A gallery overlooks the sports hall for viewing the sports hall activities or for the use of table tennis, pool and table football equipment.

The leisure attendants are trained in first aid and will be able to assist in arranging the equipment for your activities.

The centre has separate changing rooms, showers, and toilets for male and female users together with similar facilities for disabled users together with a lift to the gallery area.

The centre is normally open on Mondays to Fridays with other times by prior arrangement. The opening times are 7 to 10 p.m. on a weekday and other days by arrangement. During school holidays the centre may be booked during the day by prior arrangement.

Summer and half term activities are organised for 8 to 13 year olds. Such past activities have included football, hockey and tennis coaching, fun days, model making, kite making and flying, dance, and various art forms. Indeed almost any activity can be arranged given notice and adequate support.
