Lower Buckton, Near Leintwardine,
Herefordshire Lower Buckton's a late Georgian, former farmhouse situated in a tiny hamlet just above the meandering River Teme. Henry and Carolyn are members of Slow Food and are renowned for their welcoming hospitality. They've developed a fine vegetable garden which supplies year-round produce to the kitchen, there are rare-breed, free-range Berkshire pigs in the yard and the odd bantam for breakfast eggs. Everything else is locally sourced, bought and caught using small, independent producers and suppliers within a ten mile radius. Lower Buckton is a multi-national supermarket-free zone! The large dining room can seat up to 20 guests for dinner and lunch parties. Private parties are welcome to book - if you're staying elsewhere in the area do phone to see what's cooking. |

The secluded gardens with south facing terrace and
lawns run down to a millstream providing quiet and peaceful spots for
day-dreaming or for the more energetic and competitive try croquet,
clock golf and badminton. Fishing, shooting (clays or live), cycling,
riding and walking maps can all be arranged. We're on the Herefordshire
Trail - a walking route which circumnavigates the county. Horses are welcome for "bring your own horse holidays". There are stables and grazing and miles of wonderful hacking. Ride three counties and two countries in one day! Lower Buckton is open to guests all year round including Christmas and New Year and specialises in House Parties for groups. Come and explore this special corner of England................ ![]()
